Pubes (especially women’s) follow an ongoing evolution of fashion. From a full, luscious bush to a silky smooth full Brazilian, to purple lightning bolts… and everything in between!

Believe it or not, pubic hair removal can be traced back for centuries, though it was more often done with hygiene in mind. In Victorian society, many lovers exchanged locks of pubic haired souvenirs!

Always a site of socio-political debate (…again, especially for women), some claim full waxing makes the vulva look childish, while lovers of waxing find it more functional… easy access!

Many find having a little pubic hair more comfortable- reducing friction and rubbing that can occur during sex.

Some prefer trimmed/hairless partners for oral sex… however, having stubble can create an extremely unpleasant experience! (Make sure to keep on top of grooming, no one likes pash rash! )

Some sources claim that being hairless predisposes a person to greater risk of some STIs; It’s advisable to not have sex for a few hours after shaving or waxing, as there is increased chance for broken skin and cuts (portals for infection), but the risk is minimal. However, (GOOD NEWS!) the increased incidence of Brazilian waxing has massively reduced pubic lice (crabs) in modern western societies.

The incidence of men trimming their pubes has increased these days, with ‘manscaping’ becoming a more common practice. *hint* fellahs- a little trim can also make it look bigger!

**The truth is, if you are careful with hygiene and safe sex, it doesn’t matter what you garden looks like down there. It all comes down to preference between you and your lover/s. Whatever you do, whatever you prefer, just make sure you work it… whether you have an luscious bush, a love heart, a landing strip or nothing at all!
